Method 1: The Classic Mini Pizza Burger (From Scratch)
This method gives you the most control over flavor and is a guaranteed hit.
Yield: About 24 mini burgers
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
For the Burger Sliders:
· 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean/fat is ideal for flavor)
· 1 large egg
· ½ cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
· ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
· 1 teaspoon garlic powder
· 1 teaspoon onion powder
· 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
· ½ teaspoon salt
· ¼ teaspoon black pepper
· 24 small, soft dinner rolls or slider buns (like King’s Hawaiian)
For the Pizza Topping:
· 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
· 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
· 24 slices of pepperoni (optional)
· 1-2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
· ½ teaspoon garlic powder or Italian seasoning (for the butter brush)
Instructions:
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the Burger Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix, or the burgers will be tough.
- Form the Sliders: Shape the mixture into 24 small, flat patties, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Cook the Patties: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through. Alternatively, you can pan-fry them in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side.
- Assemble: Split your dinner rolls in half and arrange the bottom halves on a clean baking sheet. Place a cooked mini burger patty on each bottom bun.
- Add Toppings: Top each patty with a spoonful of pizza sauce, a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese, and a slice of pepperoni (if using). Place the top bun over the pepperoni.
- Butter & Bake: Stir the garlic powder or Italian seasoning into the melted butter. Lightly brush the tops of the buns with the butter mixture. This will give them a gorgeous, golden, flavorful finish.
- Melt the Cheese: Bake the assembled sliders for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the buns are lightly toasted.
- Serve: Serve immediately while hot and gooey!
