Ingredients
For the Cake:
· 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
· 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
· 2 tsp baking powder
· ½ tsp salt
· ⅓ cup (76g) unsalted butter, softened but still cool
· ¾ cup (180ml) whole milk, room temperature
· 2 large egg whites, room temperature
· 1 tsp vanilla extract
· ¼ tsp almond extract (optional, but highly recommended for depth)
For the Vanilla Glaze (Optional but Heavenly):
· 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar, sifted
· 2-3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
· ½ tsp vanilla extract
· A pinch of salt
